Sasa-Ginni-Gak Lodge — An Unforgettable Experience with Family & Friends

Sasa-ginni-gak is an Ojibwe word meaning “many ways to go”. This is very true as there are many areas to explore and enjoy the pristine forest and lakes.
Sasaginnigak Lake is located in Atikaki Provincial Wilderness Park. It is one of eight wilderness parks in the province. It can only be accessed by float plane or canoe. The park was created in 1985 and protects an area of boreal forest, granite shield and wilderness rivers. Forestry and mining are prohibited in the park.
Sasaginnigak has three rivers, one entering and two flowing from the lake. These connect to the Bloodvein River which is a designated Canadian Heritage River, extremely popular for wilderness canoeing.
Sasaginnigak has great cultural significance with thousands of years of use by Aboriginal people as an area for fishing, hunting and a travel route for the fur trade. Prehistoric red ochre rock paintings can be found on the lake and Sasaginnigak Rivers.
